Rear Diffuser Project
Left -- A view of the area where the diffuser
will sit. The lowest point (the front edge) of
the diffuser will be at the bottom of the
differential cover but above the fins. You
could see where the tire well was and the
area we cut out of the rear valance.
Left -- Another view of the rear valance
and the area where the diffuser will reside.
Below -- Mock-up stage held together with
Left -- Bolting the aluminum fins to the Alumilite
panel. The Alumilte is flat black but still covered with
protective plastic film.
Below -- A close-up view of the front edge of the
diffuser this part sits at the same level as rear axle.
A bead of epoxy to strenghten the joint.
Below -- The right side of the diffuser (left side of
the photo) kicks out to channel more air. The left
side of the diffuser (right side of the photo) makes
some room for the muffler.
Below -- Finished product. The fins have been
painted matte black and the protective film is
removed from the Alumilite.
Below -- This view shows the orientation of the
diffuser if you were looking at the back of the car.
The bar running across the top will mount the rear
of the diffuser to the rear valance.
Below -- This view shows the front edge of the
diffuser. This diffuser is upside down. The aluminum
straps will mount the front of the diffuser to the rear
Above -- This is the rear view of the diffuser. The
diffuser will be installed in this orientation.
